The Cavalor Derma Wash 500ml is a hygienic shampoo containing chlorhexidine, used to wash horses that have flaky skin, dull coats or skin conditions. Cavalor Derma Wash is the ideal shampoo to wash new arrivals in the yard to prevent infections as it helps kill bacteria, fungi and viruses.
As well as being used as a fantastic hygienic horse shampoo, Derma Wash can also be used to clean horse rugs, saddle pads, leather etc to help keep a hygienic yard! To clean small wounds or genitals we recommend using Derma Spray which has the same active ingredients, without the soap. Cavalor Derma Wash is also PH neutral so it is designed to be friendly to your horses skin unlike human shampoo.
Direction for use:
Firstly, wet your horses coat then use a small amount of Cavalor Derma Wash (30ml) to a bucket of lukewarm water and apply directly on the whole body or the affected skin with a sponge. Let it soak into the coat for a short while, then carefully rinse off with water afterwards.
To avoid infections, it can be a good idea to wash your horse(s) monthly or after intensive contact with other horses (Camps, Competitions, Training). Derma Wash can also be used to disinfect your tack or other equipment.
If you have a sensitive skinned horse please test on a small area first.
